Hot News and EventsSalmonaid Festival - A Great Success Federal Court is Studying Options to Assist Endangered Salmon On April 16th, Judge Oliver Wanger ruled that the Delta water permits for endangered salmon violated the Endangered Species Act. He is now holding hearings on corrective steps that must be taken by the water community to comply with the law. The attorneys representing fishermen have done an outstanding job in providing good options to the judge. Congratulations and thanks to PCFFA, NRDC, Earthjustice and Calif. Sportfishing Protection Alliance. California Assembly Passes Mitigation Bill In May, the State Assembly passed AB 1806 by Lois Wolk which will require the state and federal delta pumps to mitigate for the fishery losses they create. The bill now goes to the Senate where it will be heard in Committee on June 24th. Thanks to all or the organizations and individuals who sent letters of support and attended the hearings. The Water4Fish data showing 56,000 supporters was part of the powerful support data presented to the Assembly members.
